STATE OF MIND partners with St Helens Rugby League Referee Society

STATE OF MIND will continue the partnership with St Helens Rugby League Referee Society in 2026.

STATE OF MIND previously completed a project to improve the mental fitness of members of the society, and subsequently, referees have proudly worn shirts with the charity's logo.

INNES ARNOLD

Innes Arnold from the society, in 2026, will become an ambassador for STATE OF MIND.

STATE OF MIND connected with Innes as director of a local NHS mental health service, and his deep commitment to rugby league as their oldest match official.

An Mental Health First Aid trained Safeguarding Officer and he sparked our partnership, rooted in care and community with St Helens Referee Society proudly wearing our logo since 2021,to show referees care too.

This season, they’ll join us in embracing our refreshed identity.

The society aims to

  1. Attract, develop, train, mentor and retain Match Officials to officiate the game of Rugby League.
  2. Promote equal opportunities within the game and all of the Society’s dealings, regardless of gender, background, disability or ethnicity.
  3. Develop Members’ knowledge of the Laws of Rugby League in all its formats to ensure universal application of the Laws throughout the sport
  4. Seek links with local and national sports clubs, leagues and governing bodies to develop and expand participation in the sport of Rugby League throughout the local area.
  5. Facilitate the appointments of Members to officiate Rugby League matches appropriate to their competence and experience.
  6. Engage in projects to enhance the standing of both the Society and the game of Rugby League.
