Widnes Masters Rugby League played against the Royal Marines Masters team at an inaugural event, playing for the STATE OF MIND trophy.

The game took place at the home of Moore Rugby Union on 14/03/26.

‍

The game was played in an amazing spirit, and it was a great credit to all of those who took part and organised the event.

‍

It has been agreed to play for the trophy again in an annual game to support the players in rekindling camaraderie and team bonds that can be lost after a playing career or a career in the Armed Forces.

‍

A massive thank you to Gary Hughes (pictures on the left) from Widnes Maters in getting everything ready for the big game experience.

STATE OF MIND trustee Andy Hymers was on hand to present the trophy to the two team captains on the day and the player of the match award.
